Altenew Let It Shine Homework Day 3

Yesterday was day three of the Altenewacademy.com class and we went over sparkle pens.  What a great thing they are!  I am in love with my Wink of Stella marker but the new Spectrum Noir shimmer pens are amazing!  They have even more sparkle & shimmer than any other marker I've seen.  I just love them. I have had the clear Wink of Stella marker but I wasn't very impressed with the colored Wink of Stella when I had a chance to try them.  I had to try the Spectrum Noir sparkle pens when I saw them at JoAnn Crafts last week so I got the only set they had.

My card layout is rather simple because the colors are so bold. I embossed the Persian motifs images all over watercolor paper with pearl embossing powder.  Then I colored in the images with my three sparkle markers.  I blended some of the colors together.  I stamped, embossed & colored in one separate image so I could cut it out & mount it on the front of the card.  I then colored a strip of white paper with the purple sparkle pen & cut it out with the words thank you.  I attached the words & the extra piece to a vellum strip of vellum that I had embossed with a sentiment.

PAPER: 140 lb. Cold press Strathmore Watercolor Paper, Vellum, Pale Blue Card Stock, Recollections 65 lb. White Card Stock

I'm Jil Lebel from Kissimmee, Florida. I'm about 20 minutes away from Walt Disney World and take full advantage of that fact by visiting the parks all the time. I did samples, make and takes, demos and classes for many stamp stores in Central Florida. I love to work with a little bit of everything but all types of water coloring are my favorite. I have had a long love affair with Ai stamps. I bought some Ai watercolor stamps to make faux postage in the early 2000's and now I have the entire watercolor collection. I also love the humor and animated faces of the Ai characters and look to them for funny cards. I am delighted to be a part of the Ai design team!
