You're Invited Challenge Cards

Hello Ai fans!

It's week two of the You're Invited Challenge on the Art Impressions Blog and I've made two very different cards. Be sure to enter your work for the chance to win three stamp sets of your choice. I used the Floral Invites stamp set for both cards.

First, I did a simple Thank you card.  I started by stamping the frame and greeting onto a piece of Strathmore watercolor paper with Versamark watermark ink.  I added Ranger Gold Sparkle embossing powder and shook off the excess before heat setting it. I also cut out the paper with the Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies. It's mounted onto an A2 card that was covered with paper from the Crafters Companion 12" x 12"Vintage Lace.  The flowers were stamped onto a separate piece of watercolor paper and cut out.  I used them in my stamp platform so I could color the flowers and leaves individually with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  I colored the flowers with 636 Imperial Purple and stamped them down.  I then colored the leaves with 177 Dark Jade.  I spread out the color with a damp #4 Brush.  I added in 346 Sea Green to the leaves.

I did more coloring for the second card.  I stamped the wreath onto a piece of watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.  I also stamped the greeting onto a small strip of paper with the same ink.  I added the Tombow Dual Brush Pens directly to the paper and pulled it out with my brush.  I added 636 Imperial Purple to the large flowers and 725 Rhodamine Red to the smaller flowers.  The berries are colored with 493 Reflex Blue.  I used 346 Sea Green and 177 on the leaves.  I outlined the entire image with 026 Yellow Gold and spread it out with my brush.  I attached the greeting with foam tape.
